Nursery Home Learning

Hello to all our Nursery Parents!

I realise these are difficult times for us all but there's lots of things we can do to support our nursery children to learn at home. I realise some children may become anxious. CBeebies have an article called '7 Techniques for helping kids keep calm' which might be useful.

I have uploaded some ideas for keeping your little ones active and I have also added some useful documents from the Twinkl website so you can continue to follow our 'Dough Disco' programme at home. This is great for  developing the muscles they need to hold a pencil properly.

I have also included '50 Things to do before you're 5' produced by Essex County Council. This has lots of fun, play-based activities you can do with your child throughout the year. Why not print it off, stick it on the fridge and tick each one off as you do them? You could also email us photos which we could include in your child's 'Earwig' learning journey.

Each week I will be adding a new 'Nursery Learning Continuity Plan' with ideas for everyday activities to support all areas of our curriculum. These don't require internet access.

Please see the list below of useful website if you do have internet access:

Phonics:

We use the  'Jolly Phonics' rhymes to help our children remember initial sounds alongside our school 'Floppy Phonics' programme. The rhymes can be accessed on You Tube by entering the search term 'Jolly Phonics songs in correct order': our children love to sing the rhymes and repeat the actions!
