30 Hour Provision

Mrs Warriner & Mrs Millward would like to welcome

you to our 3/4 year old - 30 hour provision 


Spring Term 2018

As the colder weather is here, children will need a warm coat, wellies and a change of clothes.

Scarves, hats and gloves are also recommended (please ensure everything is named).

Also please provide your child with a labelled water bottle with a sports cap. 


German with Mr Pearson - Monday morning 

PE with Mrs Holland - Monday afternoon - No PE kit is required for this. We ask if you could dress your child in suitable clothing for moving around in lots of different ways in the school hall and using apparatus.

We also ask if you could get your child to practice at home putting on and taking off their shoes and socks independantly. 


Snack money is a voluntary contribution of £9.00 to cover next half term (payable on School Gateway).


Talk for Writing - This half term, we will be doing lots of fun and exciting activities around the following book -

We’re going on a bear hunt. 

We will also be focusing our small group activities and nursery environment

on the following books -

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Peace at Last 

Information books about winter


Theme -  Winter 

Some of the activities we will be covering this half term are: 

- making bird feeders for our nursery garden 

- observing and talking about season changes

- choosing the right clothing for outdoor play 

- looking at animals and people that live in cold climates 

- matching and pairing winter socks and gloves 

- investigating snow/ice 

- learning lots of songs and rhymes about winter 

We will also be covering lots of activities around your child’s current daily interests - see planning board in your child’s key worker room for more information.

Chinese New Year

Shrove Tuesday.


Parents/Carer Groups - 

This half term we will be inviting you to join us for a stay and play session with your child.

More information will be given to you nearer the date. 


Home Learning -

-Go for a walk in the local area or park and observe the environment.

-Discuss the changes in seasons, the current temperature. 

-Make bird feeders for your  garden.

-Teddy Bear Tea Party: Invite friends and their Teddy Bears by designing invitations with your child, planning the menu, and preparing the refreshments together (cooking skills, following directions, creativity, organisation and social skills)

-Teddy Bear Nursery Rhymes and Poems or Stories: Create a nursery rhyme (a rhymed tale for children), poem, or story using familiar objects and places (vocabulary, writing and reading skills, imagination)

-Read, Sing, and Act Out Teddy Bear nursery rhymes and poems or songs, (reading, creativity, performing arts)

* Please email your child’s key worker with any photos or short written observations of you and your child doing any activities at home or out and about. This is a great way for us learn more about your child and their interests outside of nursery.
