Dear Parents/Carers/Pupils,

We are now experiencing a number of pupils that are unable to attend school.  All pupils have login details for Mathletics, Purple Mash and Times Tables Rockstars in their reading journals but if their journals have been left at school please e-mail me (or the school office) so that I/we can send you the relevant logins.  I will continue to place targetted work on these websites.

All reading is useful and the recommended reads file under 'File Manager' at the bottom of this class page will help identify suitable books and authors, especially if a library can still be visited.

Many websites offer great links to resources suitable for SATs revision but the BBC ReviseWise website for KS2 is probably the best of the lot.

Once again, please contact myself or the school office if you have any queries regarding school work.

18.3.20

I have placed some work for children to complete in the 'File Manager' section of this class page.  This will cover work done on 'Metric and imperial Measures'.

Homework

This is an important school year for all Year 6 pupils.  Your chances are improved by completing the weekly tasks which include weekly reading of at least 50 pages, learning your weekly spellings and achieving 1000 points+ on Mathletics.  Mathletics points are now calculated from Monday to Monday so weekend working pays off.

Please make sure that your child reads for at least 30 minutes five evenings each week and makes a note of it in their reading journal, either at home or in school in the morning.  Also, it would be great if you had some time to discuss and share the book with your child.  We are really trying to promote reading for enjoyment and pleasure.  A record will be kept of the reading completed by your child and rewards can be earned.

In addition, look at the statutory word lists for Years 3/4 and Years 5/6 regularly.

Recommended reading lists have been added to the File Manager, too.
