Our Homework Policy can be found in the 'Files to Download' section below.

Your child is expected to achieve a Mathletics certificate every week. Tasks and new learning will be updated by the class teacher. Mathletics certificates will be printed out before the achievement assembly each week.

May we ask that you continue to take time to read with your child each night. This may include your child reading their school book to you, but, it may also be you reading a book to your child; both of these experiences are equally as important. 'Book Talk' is really valuable at this point; so encouraging your child to talk about what they have read or asking them questions about what they have read is really useful.

P.E. will take place on different days this half term, so please ensure that your child brings their P.E. kit with them at the beginning of each week and leaves it in school. Again, please ensure that ALL kits are named as we may be another year older, but, we are still very good at losing things!!!  The P.E. sessions are going to take place outside, so please ensure their kit is for outdoor use.

School uniform should also be appropriately named to ensure that any items that are misplaced can be returned.  All children in KS2 are expected to wear a tie, so please ensure they have one every day and it has their name on it.

Children should also bring a water bottle to school and there are water fountains available for them to refill them throughout the day.

What we are learning about:

This term, children will be learning about light in science.  They will be thinking about natural and manmade sources of light and how our eyes react to light and dark.  In history, children will be learning about the four ancient civilizations: Ancient Sumer, Ancient Egypt, Shang Dynasty and Indus Valley.  They will be thinking about what all four civilisations had in common and what their greatest inventions were.  This will link to their geography unit which will focus on physical and human properties, such as, rivers and settlement types.  In P.E. children will be learning tennis and athletics techniques.

The drop in session for 3VS is on a Thursday after school. However, should you have any questions or need to contact me outside of the school day, I am also available on my email:

Thank you once again for your continued support.

Miss Sharp 😊
